About me

I’m Lily – a humanist celebrant with a passion for live music, spicy food, and all creatures great and small.

How I became a humanist celebrant

I was introduced to humanism by the wonderful celebrant who conducted mine and my husband’s wedding ceremony. I knew I loved my partner and wanted to spend my life with him, but I’d always been on the fence about marriage – I associated it with lots of old-fashioned things that didn’t resonate with me.

But as I discovered, humanist ceremonies are so far removed from all of those things that I knew I wanted to hitch my wagon to it. Our celebrant took such great care in writing and conducting a ceremony that perfectly represented our love story and our lives, and all the weird and wonderful things that make us who we are.

As a celebrant myself, I want to give you both the kind of day you’ll look back on for the rest of your lives together – one that celebrates your love story, is totally unique to you, and is packed full of joy.

What I do when I’m not marrying people

I’ve always loved live music, and I sing, play the guitar and the drums in several rock and punk bands – as well as a Dolly Parton tribute band. Music is a very important part of my life and there’s nothing I love more than recommending amazing songs and playlists for weddings! I also have two adorable cats, Gomez and Tina, and I love spending time in my South London garden, growing ugly pumpkins and tiny courgettes.

I’m a Londoner born and raised, and have lots of ideas for photoshoots, venues, and after parties.

Book me if…

You’re a firm believer in a no-stress process! Booking a wedding and getting everything ready is exciting, but it can also be a big headache – and the last thing you want is to be worried about the ceremony itself not going to plan.

I’m here to create the ceremony of your dreams so you can focus on looking gorgeous and saying hello to all the guests.

As we’re getting to know each other, I’ll build a complete picture of your love story to share with your invited guests on the day. We can incorporate all sorts of weird and wonderful things – whether it’s an animal ring bearer, meaningful rituals, or having little ones involved, the important thing is that your ceremony represents you both.

I’ll always be on hand for catchups and questions, rehearsals, or anything else you might need – and you’ll receive up to three drafts of your ceremony in the weeks and months leading up to the big day to make sure everything’s perfect.
